Are you an ambitious Sous Chef ready to take the next step into your first Head Chef position?

We’re working with an established independent hospitality business in the Farnborough area who are looking for a talented and motivated chef to take ownership of their busy daytime kitchen.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef who feels ready to make the move into a Head Chef role, lead their own team and build on a fresh, seasonal food offering - while moving away from the late-night finishes traditionally associated with senior kitchen positions.

The role

You’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, providing hands-on leadership and ensuring consistently high standards across a fresh-food, daytime operation.

You’ll be joining an established business with plenty already in place, but they’re looking for someone who can bring confidence, organisation and leadership to the kitchen and increasingly make the role their own.

Responsibilities will include:

• Leading and supporting the kitchen team
• Overseeing preparation, service and presentation
• Maintaining consistently high food and hygiene standards
• Managing stock, ordering and food costs
• Supporting and developing other members of the kitchen
• Ensuring smooth and efficient service during busy periods
• Working closely with the wider management and front-of-house teams
• Taking real ownership of the day-to-day kitchen operation

About you

You may already be working as a Head Chef, but we’re particularly keen to hear from ambitious Sous Chefs who are ready to take that next step.

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience as a Sous Chef, Senior Sous Chef or Head Chef within a fresh-food environment
• Confidence leading a kitchen team and running service
• Strong organisational and leadership skills
• Experience with stock control and ordering
• A genuine passion for fresh, quality food
• The ability to support and develop other chefs
• A calm, hands-on approach during busy periods
• The ambition to step up, take responsibility and make the position your own

Hours & package

£35,000 – £38,000 per annum, depending on experience.

This is a predominantly daytime position with no traditional late-night finishes, offering an attractive alternative to the usual hours associated with senior restaurant roles.

The position operates across a five-day working week and regular weekend working will be required. Some flexibility around working patterns may be available once established in the role.
