Head of Project Delivery

We're looking for an experienced Head of Project Delivery to take the lead on a growing portfolio of technology and consulting projects, while building and developing a high-performing Project Management function.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being at the heart of delivery - bringing people together, solving problems, building strong client relationships and creating the structure that allows great teams to do their best work.

You'll be joining an established and highly respected Microsoft Partner with a diverse portfolio of high-profile clients across sectors including financial services, government, utilities, engineering, technology, education and more.

The opportunity

Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll have ownership of project delivery across the portfolio, leading and developing the Project Management team and ensuring projects consistently deliver the outcomes expected by both clients and the business.

You'll be the person who brings together people, process, commercial thinking and technology to keep delivery moving.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading, mentoring and developing the Project Management team, creating an environment where people can grow and succeed.
• Taking ownership of project delivery across the full lifecycle - from pre-sales and contract finalisation through to implementation and handover.
• Providing leadership, oversight and constructive challenge across the delivery portfolio.
• Ensuring projects are well governed, commercially controlled and progressing against agreed outcomes.
• Overseeing project reporting, RAID, WIP, financials and delivery performance.
• Working closely with Practice Leads, Sales and Customer Success to manage priorities, resources and opportunities.
• Supporting strategic bids and customer engagements, helping turn great ideas into compelling propositions.
• Acting as a senior escalation point when challenges arise and helping project teams find practical solutions.
• Driving consistent delivery standards, methodologies and ways of working.
• Overseeing resource utilisation, project scheduling and the wider PMO function.
• Ensuring successful handover into Service Management and ongoing customer relationships.
• Building a culture of continuous improvement through lessons learned, knowledge sharing and better ways of working.
• Helping shape innovative propositions and integrated services that create genuine value for clients.

What we're looking for

We're looking for an experienced delivery leader who can combine strong project management expertise with commercial awareness, people leadership and excellent client skills.

You'll ideally bring:

• Significant experience delivering complex consulting, professional services or technology projects.
• Experience leading and developing Project Managers or a wider delivery function.
• Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies, governance and commercial management.
• A track record of successfully managing multiple projects and priorities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical subjects into clear, value-focused messages.
• Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• A good understanding of both business and technology strategy and change management.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to balance client outcomes, risk, resources and profitability.
• A collaborative leadership style and the ability to influence without imposing.
• Experience working across multiple industries and with senior client stakeholders.
• A genuine passion for delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Professional qualifications such as PMI, APM, PRINCE2, MSP or P3O would be advantageous, alongside relevant technical experience and a strong background in consulting project delivery.
