Location: Hampshire

Salary: £47,840 Basic + £60,000 OTE

Overtime: Paid at 1.5x

Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00-15:30

Are you an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter, Plant Engineer, Plant Technician or Heavy Plant Fitter looking for a new opportunity in Reading?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established commercial plant business offering a £47,840 basic salary, realistic OTE of £60,000 and overtime paid at time and a half.

You will work on a wide range of modern construction and plant machinery, carrying out servicing, diagnostics, preventative maintenance and repairs at customer sites and in the workshop.

The role would suit an experienced Plant Fitter, Mobile Plant Engineer, Agricultural Engineer, Heavy Plant Technician or Construction Equipment Engineer looking for strong earning potential, manufacturer training and long-term career progression.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Mobile Plant Fitter / Plant Engineer, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing construction plant and heavy machinery
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance
• Attending customer sites to complete mobile repairs and breakdowns
• Carrying out Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI)
• Setting up and installing plant attachments
• Completing inspections in line with manufacturer service schedules
• Carrying out fault finding and identifying effective repair solutions
• Completing job cards, service reports and warranty paperwork
• Maintaining tools, equipment and stock within your company service vehicle
• Working closely with customers, workshop teams and the sales department
• Ensuring all repairs are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard

The Machinery

You will work on a variety of construction and mobile plant equipment, which may include:

• Excavators
• Dumpers
• Rollers
• Telehandlers
• Loaders
• Attachments
• Heavy construction equipment

Experience across all types of machinery is not essential. If you have strong plant maintenance and repair experience, we want to hear from you.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter / Plant Engineer / Plant Technician with:

• Level 3 qualification in Plant Maintenance, Plant Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or an equivalent qualification
• Previous experience repairing and maintaining plant or heavy machinery
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
• Good knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems
• Experience carrying out servicing and preventative maintenance
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• Willingness to travel to customer sites across Southern England

Experience as a Mobile Plant Fitter, Plant Engineer, Agricultural Engineer, Heavy Plant Fitter, Construction Equipment Engineer, Plant Technician or Field Service Engineer would be advantageous.
