Qualified MOT Tester

Location: OX10
Hours: Monday to Friday (NO WEEKENDS)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced and fully qualified MOT Tester to join a professional and well-established automotive business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for completing MOT tests accurately, efficiently and in accordance with current DVSA regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for a dependable automotive professional seeking a secure, long-term position within a supportive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Class 4 MOT tests in line with current DVSA standards and regulations.

• Accurately identify and record vehicle defects, advisories and failures.

• Complete all required MOT documentation and update the relevant systems.

• Maintain consistently high standards of safety, quality and compliance.

• Clearly explain MOT results and any recommended work to customers and colleagues.

• Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs where required.

• Ensure all tools and testing equipment are used correctly and maintained appropriately.

• Keep the MOT testing bay and workshop clean, safe and organised.

• Work effectively with technicians, service advisors and other team members.

• Remain up to date with changes to MOT regulations and industry standards.

Essential Requirements

• A valid and current DVSA MOT Testing Licence.

• Qualified to test Class 4 vehicles.

• Relevant automotive qualification, ideally NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

• Previous experience working as an MOT Tester or Vehicle Technician.

• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, maintenance and repairs.

• A full UK driving licence.

• Excellent attention to detail.

• A professional, reliable and safety-conscious approach.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience completing vehicle servicing, diagnostics and mechanical repairs.

• Additional MOT testing classes.

• Experience working within a dealership, independent garage or fast-fit environment.
