Part-Time Permanent Finance Assistant
Heston | Permanent | 22.5 hours per week

Looking for a Finance role that genuinely works around your life? I'm recruiting for a permanent, part-time Finance Assistant to join an established Finance team based in Heston, working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 9.00am – 5.30pm.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced finance professional who is specifically looking for part-time hours and wants the stability of a permanent role, rather than someone simply looking for a full-time position on reduced hours.

You'll be joining a supportive Finance team in a hands-on role, with responsibility for employee expenses, invoices, reconciliations and general transactional finance.

We're particularly keen to hear from someone who enjoys working with expenses and has the confidence to question claims, investigate discrepancies and ensure payments are made correctly and in line with company policy and HMRC requirements.

What will you be doing?

• Managing the end-to-end employee expenses process, including cash and corporate credit card expenses
• Reviewing expense claims, receipts and supporting documentation to ensure they comply with company policy
• Using your judgement to identify issues and ask the right questions when claims don't look quite right
• Applying knowledge of HMRC rules and VAT when reviewing business expenses
• Managing the corporate credit card system and maintaining accurate records
• Processing invoices, credit notes and other finance transactions
• Investigating discrepancies and resolving queries with internal departments, suppliers and customers
• Supporting reconciliations and ensuring receipts and payments are accurately allocated
• Assisting with customer ledger and Credit Control activities when required
• Providing general transactional and administrative support to the wider Finance team

What are we looking for? You'll ideally have previous experience in an Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger, Bookkeeping, Finance Assistant or Accounts Assistant position, together with:

• Hands-on experience processing employee expenses
• Good knowledge of HMRC and VAT requirements, particularly around business expenses
• Excellent attention to detail and the confidence to challenge transactions where something doesn't look right
• Experience with invoices, payment processing and reconciliations
• Good Excel and general IT skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to deal confidently and professionally with queries
• AAT studies or qualification would be advantageous, although relevant practical experience is equally important
• Credit Control experience would be beneficial but is not essential

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants PART-TIME work This is a permanent 22.5-hour-per-week position, working:
Wednesday, Thursday & Friday
9.00am – 5.30pm
22.5 hours per week
Office based – Heston, West London
