Sales Development Representative

The Role

We are looking for a driven and commercially minded Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join a growing financial services business specialising in solutions for the UK recruitment sector.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys speaking to businesses, building relationships and generating new opportunities, with a clear route to developing a long-term career within business development and sales.

You will be responsible for identifying prospective recruitment businesses, engaging with decision-makers, understanding their requirements and qualifying opportunities before handing them across to the wider commercial team.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and research prospective recruitment agencies and businesses.
• Proactively contact potential clients through phone, email and LinkedIn.
• Speak with business owners, directors and senior decision-makers.
• Introduce the company's finance and business solutions and understand their requirements.
• Qualify inbound and outbound opportunities against agreed criteria.
• Build relationships with prospects and create genuine interest in the proposition.
• Book qualified meetings and opportunities for the Business Development team.
• Maintain accurate prospect and pipeline information within the CRM.
• Follow up consistently with prospective clients to develop opportunities.
• Work closely with the wider sales and account management teams to maximise conversion.
• Develop a strong understanding of the recruitment finance / invoice finance market and the challenges recruitment businesses face.
• Contribute to outbound campaigns and initiatives designed to generate new business.
• Consistently work towards agreed activity, meeting and opportunity targets.

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who is confident, personable and commercially driven, with the resilience and enthusiasm to pick up the phone and speak to new businesses.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience in SDR, BDE, telesales, recruitment, business development or a similar outbound sales role.
• Strong telephone and communication skills.
• The confidence to speak with business owners and senior decision-makers.
• A genuine interest in sales and relationship building.
• A proactive and persistent approach to generating new opportunities.
• Strong organisation and CRM/pipeline management skills.
• The ability to ask good questions and understand a prospect's business needs.
• Commercial awareness and a desire to learn about recruitment finance, invoice finance and working capital solutions.
• A target-driven mindset without being overly transactional in your approach.

Experience within recruitment finance, invoice finance, commercial finance or working with recruitment agencies would be highly advantageous, but is not essential.
